Posted: 14th November 2024

Burlington House School, Sixth Form is thrilled to announce an exceptional milestone: earning a place in the Top 1% nationally for Value Added, highlighting the incredible progress of students and the dedication of the staff who support them.Value Added is a significant measure in education, as it tracks the academic progress of students from their starting points, emphasising growth rather than absolute performance. This metric is especially relevant in our Sixth Form, where many students arrive with limited prior academic success. The Value Added measure demonstrates that, through individualised support and dedication, students are achieving levels of progress beyond initial expectations

These results, evaluated through the ALPS platform — a respected national benchmarking tool in education — provide a reliable gauge of institutional success. This year, due in large part to the coordinated efforts of Deputy Head Rik Finch, the Sixth Form has achieved a Value Added score that places it in the top 1% of all Sixth Forms and Colleges in the UK. For context, only a small percentage of institutions ever reach the top 5-10%, making this achievement particularly notableThe institution views this recognition as a testament to the hard work and commitment of both students and staff. Burlington House School, Sixth Form aims to highlight this success in its ongoing commitment to educational excellence and community engagement.
