This week The Moat Sixth Form students received their first exam results of 2021. Although a turbulent year for all, it has been especially hard for students up and down the country. In particular ours here at The Moat Sixth Form, this was the first set of exams sat at the new Sixth Form in a subject which our students had not previously studied at secondary school. We are delighted to announce that our students have achieved 100% success rate for this exam period, with 55% percent passing with a ‘Distinction’ level result.
Our Sixth Form staff are ecstatic to have achieved this result which was taken by our students 24 hours before the government announced it was closing all schools, in early January due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
This level of resilience from The Moat Sixth Form students has been exemplary and the commitment and hard work of the staff has helped them along this difficult path to success.
The Sixth Form’s Business and Media teachers, brothers Ronan and Gareth Sloan, are “over the moon for our Sixth Formers, some of whom we have seen develop into talented and confident young people at The Moat School. We’re both very happy to be a part of The Moat Sixth Form’s initial success”
